Audi car insurance is offered by Audi Financial Services in partnership with Allianz. Allianz provides the insurance cover and is one of the world’s largest insurance companies, operating in more than 70 countries.
Audi offers three levels of cover: third-party liability (WA), third-party liability + limited cover (WA beperkt casco) and third-party liability + comprehensive cover (WA volledig casco / all risk). You can also add optional extras, such as a new value guarantee or breakdown assistance, to tailor the policy to your needs.
Like all Dutch insurers, Audi car insurance is regulated by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM).
Pros and cons of Audi car insurance
Here’s an overview of the main advantages and disadvantages of Audi car insurance:
Full no-claims discount on your second Audi
“Audi’s second car scheme is more generous than many others on the Dutch market. Instead of offering only part of your existing no-claims discount, Audi applies the full discount to your second car, up to the maximum of 80%. This is an advantage if you own more than one Audi.”
Jean-Paul Würsten,
Car insurance expert
Is Audi car insurance available in English?
Not officially. Audi Financial Services offers its website, application process and customer service in Dutch only. If you need help by phone, you may be able to speak to an English-speaking employee, but this isn’t guaranteed.
Do I need to be a Dutch resident or have a Dutch address to take out this policy?
Yes. You’ll need a Dutch address to take out Audi car insurance. Your postcode is used to calculate your premium, and the policy must be linked to a Dutch-registered car. You don’t necessarily need to be a Dutch citizen, but you must have a valid Dutch address.
Premiums table 2026
Here’s what an average driver profile pays for Audi car insurance, based on an Audi A4 Avant:
| Premium* | Type of cover |
|---|---|
| € 56,99 | Third-party liability (WA) |
| € 64,64 | Third-party liability + limited cover (WA beperkt casco) |
| € 86,96 | Third-party liability + comprehensive cover (WA volledig casco / all risk) |
*These monthly premiums are based on car insurance for an Audi A4 Avant (2018, security class 2) for a 54-year-old driver from Amersfoort. The driver covers 10,000 kilometres per year and has five claim-free years. Latest update: 1-10-2026.
Calculate your Audi premium
Audi models often have a higher value than the average car, making the right level of cover even more important. Your premium depends on factors such as your car’s model and age, your postcode, your claim-free years, your age and your estimated annual mileage.

Additional coverage options
You can extend your Audi car insurance with a range of optional extras.
- Accessory cover (Accessoiredekking)
Your Audi’s accessories are covered up to € 3,500 as standard. If you’ve added extra accessories, you can increase the cover to € 5,000. - New value guarantee or purchase value guarantee (Aanschafwaarderegeling of nieuwwaarderegeling)
New Audis come with one year of new value guarantee. If you’re the first owner, you can extend this cover to five years. Used Audis come with three years of purchase value guarantee, which can’t be extended. - Passenger insurance (Schadeverzekering inzittenden (SVI))
Passenger insurance covers the driver and passengers for injuries and damage to personal belongings after an accident, regardless of who was at fault. Cover is provided up to € 1,000,000 per claim. - Motor legal protection (Rechtsbijstand Motorrijtuigen)
This add-on covers legal disputes related to your car, such as disagreeing with a garage, recovering uninsured losses after an accident or defending yourself against traffic-related claims. - Breakdown assistance (Pechhulp)
You can choose breakdown assistance in the Netherlands or across Europe. If your Audi can’t be repaired at the roadside, it will be towed to a garage and you’ll receive a replacement car.
Claim-free years at Audi car insurance
In the Netherlands, every year you drive without making a claim earns you one claim-free year (schadevrij jaar). The more claim-free years you build up, the higher your no-claims discount (no-claimkorting). At Audi, your discount can add up to a maximum of 80%.
When you apply for Audi car insurance, you’ll be asked how many claim-free years you have. If you’ve previously been insured in the Netherlands, Audi verifies these through Roy-data, the national database used by Dutch insurers. If your claim-free years were built up abroad, they may be assessed differently.
If you make a claim for damage that can’t be recovered from someone else, you’ll usually lose part of your no-claims discount. Claims for recoverable damage, as well as storm, fire, hail, theft and standalone glass damage, normally don’t affect your claim-free years.
The no-claims bonus ladder at Audi
Most Dutch insurers use a so-called no-claims bonus ladder (bonus-malusladder) to calculate your no-claims discount. As you build up claim-free years, you move up the ladder and receive a higher discount. Audi’s ladder has 20 steps, with the maximum discount of 80% at step 19. If you make a claim that affects your claim-free years, you’ll move down several steps at once.
Second car scheme at Audi car insurance
If you already have an Audi insured with Audi Financial Services, your second Audi starts with the same no-claims discount as your first (tweede autoregeling). This means you can benefit from a lower premium from day one, without having to build up your discount from scratch.
Each policy builds up claim-free years separately. A claim on one car doesn’t affect the other.
